As we are seeing today in California, “Britain has proved the doom-mongers wrong: economies can thrive while emissions fall…”

To me this makes obvious sense for two reasons:  One, climate solutions generate new and lucrative industries, especially creating high-wage-high-skill jobs.

And two, a region avoids dragging the expensive anchor of a failing environment, for example how Miami is suffering the early stages of sea level rise.  Municipalities and states can avoid very costly adaptation or even the relocation of settlements and even military bases, for example the eventual relocation of the Norfolk, Virginia US Navy base, the world’s largest as the Chesapeake Bay changes its behavior for the worse.
