Here’s is a fun wind farm video, from the windshield of a vehicle touring the giant wind farm in Mojave, California… in the vast deserts stretching east toward Arizona from California’s fertile Central Valley.
Large-scale wind farms are springing up in many locations around the world, and this one is part of the state of California’s visionary initiative to get half of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Along with installations like the new, giant Topaz solar farm just outside California’s Carrizo Plain National Monument, it feels like the state is well along in meeting that goal…
Though there have long been wind turbines in the nearby pass, Tehachapi, this Mojave installation is a major expansion. I passed by the farm several days ago on a Southwestern US camping trip, and though I didn’t film this video (credit goes to Tobin McKenna), my dog and I did stop and just gaze at the hypnotic effect of gently-turning wind turbines, all the way to the horizon.
Gorgeous! Who knew energy production could feel like art?
And the business (and job creation) opportunity is obvious… jobs installing and maintaining wind farms are good, good-paying jobs in a field where demand and cash investment is expanding. (Remember, your Second Superpower is: “To save the planet, invest your working life.”)
Plus locally-produced energy enhances national security, by not relying on buying energy from dangerous parts of the world or contributing to the sad and violent history of the Middle East. And a bonus: The American West, like many arid regions of the world, have very (sometimes very, very) strong prevailing winds… Great business opportunity.

Not sure where to start saving the planet (civilization, really)? Our Thesis Statement is: “Start by deeply knowing your personal Superpowers: ”
1) To save the planet, Change Yourself First;
3) Use Your Voice and take advocacy seriously! Never miss a chance to vote, and never ever stop influencing your government and all businesses locally, at the state level, and at the national level. It’s on you to lead the way with global warming solutions, (especially the high-payoff proposal of fully-refundable carbon tax).
And in all cases and at all times, cast aside the learned-helplessness that infects so much of modern life… the time is now for climate change solutions.
