Here’s a live update stream on today’s March for Science, from Live Science.  (If you can’t be at one of the marches in 600 cities around the world, you can still show up online!)  As well, here are streams from Science Magazine, from Wired Magazine and one from USA Today.

I’m getting ready to head out the door to the Silicon Valley march and teach-in event in downtown San Jose, California.  But I ask that you join me in helping keep this issue current in coming weeks and months:  Modern civilization cannot withstand a sustained assault on Reason itself…

Why do we need this first, historic March for Science?  Because at this time in our history, there is actually a countermovement attempting to subvert rational, fact-based policy with hearsay, gossip, rumor and sadly, the now-pervasive fake news – including global warming denialism receiving tens of millions of dollars each year from Big Oil, Big Coal and their ethics-compromised fellow travelers.

As much as I want Global Warming for Busy People to be nonpartisan, sometimes political action is completely appropriate, as noted in this piece from today’s Washington Post.  What could be less partisan than fact-based thinking and governance?

You have a voice:  Use it!

Not sure where to start saving the planet (civilization, really)?  Our Thesis Statement is: “Start by deeply knowing your personal Superpowers: ” 

1) To save the planet, Change Yourself First;

2) Invest Your Working Life;

3) Use Your Voice and take advocacy seriously!  Never miss a chance to vote, and never ever stop influencing your government and all businesses locally, at the state level, and at the national level.  It’s on you to lead the way with global warming solutions, (especially the high-payoff proposal of fully-refundable carbon tax).

And in all cases and at all times, cast aside the learned-helplessness that infects so much of modern life… the time is now for climate change solutions.
