During 2014 and 2015 I went through a period of becoming educated about global warming. It blew my mind… great brain-candy on both:
A) the problem-set side (the science) and,
B) the solution-set side (the economics).
But along the way I realized one solution any of us can do is to start doing a Green Good Turn Daily. It was kind of cool, and trained the brain to be resourceful and to spot opportunities. You actually learn how to see.
I started keeping a log (to make sure I actually did the good turns), and after a few weeks I could see patterns in the good turns. One that emerged pretty quickly is that I prefer solutions that live in the world of communication, of being an influencer, really.
That’s actually how Global Warming for Busy People came about… I realized there was a need for a simple platform where most “Ok, how can I get started” questions could be asked and answered in one place, without people drowning in the mass of climate change information available on the web. I realized that it is particularly hard for folks that most of the information is on what I refer above to as “the problem-set side (the science),” whereas many are already convinced and want to live on “the solution-set side (the economics).” It reduces the clutter to only focus on solutions, and in particular teach each other how to NOT DO the “trivial-many” solutions and only work on the “vital-few.”
But people are all different: If YOU do a Green Good Turn daily, I predict that your natural talents and inclinations will lead you in a different direction.
GREAT! Get started, and I predict you will have fun and feel validated and empowered!

How does one get started saving the planet? Start by deeply knowing your own sources of personal power: 1) To save the planet, Change Yourself First; 2) To save the planet, Invest Your Working Life; 3) To save the planet, Use Your Voice and take advocacy seriously! Never miss a chance to vote, and never stop influencing your government and businesses locally, at the state level, and at the national level.
And in all cases and at all times, cast aside the learned-helplessness that infects so much of modern life…
