Maximize the effective time and skills each of us brings, without wrecking our personal lives:
To Save the Planet, Change Yourself First.
To Save the Planet, Invest Your Career.
To Save the Planet, Use Your Voice.
(The steps do NOT have to be done in order… do what makes most sense for you, starting from where you’re at.)
Each step is powerful, but notice how the Invest Your Career step draws upon the single biggest time-sink most people suffer in their adult lives, their idiot “job.” That is an enormous resource available to each of, if you look at how many hours of our lives are involved. You and I will work 52 weeks times 40 hours per week times literally decades, in jobs which usually further someone else’s agenda. That’s 2,080 hours in a standard American work-year!
Or we can dedicate our valuable working lives to something meaningful, positive and energizing… I can’t speak for you, but I know I’d much rather work on something I know really, really matters.

How does one get started saving the planet? Start by deeply knowing your own sources of personal power: 1) To save the planet, Change Yourself First; 2) To save the planet, Invest Your Working Life; 3) To save the planet, Use Your Voice and take advocacy seriously! Never miss a chance to vote, and never stop influencing your government and businesses locally, at the state level, and at the national level.
And in all cases and at all times, cast aside the learned-helplessness that infects so much of modern life…
